Your Deck Style
All deck packages come with the necessary materials you need to build your deck. Nelson Lumber's most popular deck styles are Raised Level Decks, Multi-Level Decks, and Ground Level Decks. All of Nelson Lumber's deck packages use industry-leading building supplies.
Raised Level Decks
Raised level decks are built above ground and are attached to the home on at least one side.

Ground Level Decks
Ground level or patio decks are generally less than 24" above the ground and usually don't require rails and stairs.

Getting Started
1) Deck Measurements
Measure the side(s) of your home where the deck will be built. Indicating all door locations, stairs as well as the placement of existing elements such as chimneys and trees. Mark where the main wall, the portion attached to the house and the orientation of the deck boards.
2) Deck Level
For an accurate deck height measurement, indicate the height from the ground to the top of the finished deck floor. Additionally, please provide the dimensions of the outside edges of the various level(s). Acknowledge the width of stairs or ramps and determine the locations of potential railings and handrails. For decks with more than one level, indicate where the different levels will be attached.
